Backers of Rate Regulation Aren't Satisfied with Health Exchange

Between this and Dave Jones' crusade to keep Wellpoint off the SHOP exchange, I feel bad for CA. The rate increases aren't unjustified, or they would be refunding money via the MLR calculations.

The Subsidy Calculation is really cruel to Californians. They make more money due to a higher cost of living. A person who just graduated college averages $44,500 first year on the job.

This 25 year old graduate will receive $0 in premium assistance from Uncle Sam and have to pay at least $231 per month for a whopping +$6,000 annual deductible/OOP Silver plan!

And, if the past is a good indicator of the future, his/her monthly premium will increase faster than their salary will increase every year.

BUT, this new graduate will have a RICH OBAMACARE SUITE OF BENEFITS that he/she is likely to use frequently...NOT!
