If I wanted to be an I Independent producer for final expense product. Which carriers would you recommend to someone just starting out? Torn between EFES and their leads or just doing my own thing.

If you have sales experience than honestly this is a pretty easy product to sell. All the info you could ever need is right here on this forum. Experienced producers have shared tons of knowledge and you could get by with practicing your presentation with a friend or family member.
IMO humble and still rookie opinion the hardest and most challenging part of this business can't be taught per say. Just getting out there and prospecting. If you've never done it before I can tell you cold calling, door knocking, and lead buying sucks. It really sucks, plain and simple.
So if you're already the type of person that has zero problem with the prospecting part than I say just go for it on your own. Higher contracts and you've already overcome the most challenging part IMO.
Having a mentor locally that is willing to take you out with him and teach you the ropes is optimal, but who's to say you have one around? I certainly could never find one around these parts.

EFES is not an insurance carrier. They are an IMO. You are still an independent agent if you are with EFES.
As for insurance companies, there is no "best". Except the best one for the situation you are dealing with at the time.
That's why you can't be an effective FE agent if you are tied to one company.

If I were going to pick just one carrier, I would probably pick Americo, followed by RNA, Monumental, Settlers along with Vantis. But as JD said, you can't really just have one. At first I would have two of the four and Vantis and add to it as you master the products and the portfolio within them.

I've heard that ASUREA is a really good FE company. I've worked with them in the past and they offer good leads, and they have one on one support for questions and help.

You worked with them, but you "heard" they were good? I smell something. Could it be a troll?
I work with Asurea, and am well pleased with their contacts and support as well as their leads. There are other good IMO's, and I suggest that you read some of the back posts to get a feel from them. I also would not pass up the guys on this forum who offer contracts and who seem to be first rate.
EFES is a great company, so I have heard from these forums. However, you can get better contracts if you are willing to purchase your own leads!
I learned a ton from this forum and I like the opportunities I have found so far. Good luck to you!
