Blog SEO Experiment

It's not necessary 17 posts. When the blog is new then maybe you need 17 consecutive posts. But if you are not desperate to get updated everyday as soon as possible you can write 2-3 posts per week and after a month or so you will be visited every time you update the content.
I also assume your wordpress ping is on. Ping is an automatic mechanism by which a blog "notifies" a server that its content has been updated, so spiders "rush" to index your new content...

Well, I'm glad you were able to attract the search engine spiders as you had hoped for. I don't use Blogger, and Wordpress had been just fine for me too. I don't post each day, but a few times a week. And every time I make a new post, the spiders come crawling. To be honest I think it had a lot to do with Wordpress itself.

If you want your site indexed use Googles webmaster tools (Google "Google webmaster tools") and set up your domain. You'll be indexed in a few hours.

As far as search engine spiders, frequent posting is critical. You want to do it on a regular basis. It's not like you can do 6 today and say you're done for the week. Do one everyday and you'll be gold in a few months.

However, blogs don't generate a lot of high quality traffic. I don't want traffic. I want buyers. I keep seeing a lot of people posting here about getting traffic but unless they're buying I could care less about traffic. I'm not out to spread my name. I'm out to sell insurance.

Maybe I'm wrong but my PPC campaigns make me go to the bank a hell of a lot more than my blog posts. And, now that they're running well I spend less time working on it. I'll take being wrong if it comes with the paycheck.

Maybe I'm reading what everyone is saying here incorrectly but my experience is go after the money. I've been blogging over a year and the money ain't in the blog, it's my PPC campaigns.
