Blue Cross of Illinois can be a real PAIN when it comes to getting individual applications approved, but they are the best when it comes to field communications and overall responsiveness to the market they serve.
For instance, they are the only company I know of in Illinois that plans to comply with all of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) mandates that go into effect on September 23rd for policies effective after that date.

The premiums aren't unusually higher for October than September, either. That's a pleasant surprise. Guess I'll be selling a lot of Blue Cross (or trying to!) during the next few months, until the rest of the companies fall in line with the PPACA mandates.
