59 FNT diabetic on insulin. Had a brain tumor diagnosed 8/01/20. It was removed 11/15/20. On 10/25/20 she purchased a Trustage term life 80,
policy for $25,000. The tumor was non cancerous. She was hospitalized for 5 days and is now doing fine. She wants 25K whole life. Thoughts.

If the tumor that was removed was NOT cancer... then you should only be dealing with the question of being hospitalized within the past 90 days. Prosperity is level if hospital is over 30 days, so you're good there. They are also good with diabetics... That's where I'd be looking. IF that growth is considered Cancer, then things are interesting. I'd get details on surgery then call Prosperity and ask to speak with an underwriter for some CYA.

I think the diabetes would be more of an issue than a non-cancerous brain tumor.

Just for comparison, my mother also had a non-cancerous brain tumor. Acoustic Neuroma was the technical term for it. It was removed nearly 5 years ago. The only side affect was that she lost some hearing in her left ear due to the procedure, but otherwise okay. Same age too: 59.

Applied for fully underwritten life (10-pay). Was approved select-standard, but had a 'flat extra' applied for the first 3 years. Otherwise, my mother was in good health.

(She did go to the ER for dizziness during underwriting, but all that came back was vertigo, even after an MRI and other tests.)

I think Prosperity has 2 agent support reps and maybe 3 customer service reps . One of worst service CO's around . I only use for De . They seem to ss draft well .

Several of the companies I carry ask about being hospitalized within the last 3 months to a year which makes them a TD. They also ask about brain tumors, which kick it into graded. Looking like Gerber is the way to go for me. Not going to get signed up with a new company for one policy. Write it up and move on to the next one.
