Lee,

This product with UH has changed effective May 10th... The above is no longer available as quoted for the 30 yr old. Now the issue age for Graded and Mod policies is 40-85.

See Bulleten # 11-2012, dated 4/22/12 for details.

NEW: APPLICATION – RATES – GRADED BENEIFT SCHEDULE – AGENT GUIDE

PROTECTOR MODIFIED BENEFIT
changes include:

1) tobacco and non-tobacco premium rates,

2) issue ages 40-85,

Scratch the above as I see that the bulliten does not apply to CA. So maybe the old product is still in use on the left coast... but I suppose you have this to look fwd to.

Yeah, three states have not changed yet. Toughened the app some and lowered the premium. I have not compare the new rates yet. The old ones were high.

In this case I think it is the best option for TD's client. You FE guys may have something else available.

The new n/s rates aren't too bad... the smoker rates went thru the roof. Ouch! So they are a no-go for any smoker unless it is an anomoly of an u/w issue.

I agree that since you can still offer the old product that will accomodate the 30 yr old they are the best option offering Graded Death Benefit. Others are all likely to be ROP for a similar case. No doubt UH has gotten singled out as a company for many such cases since they are one of the few that will go down to 0 age with both Graded and Mod benefit.... Not surprising to see the chg.

Yeah, they were a go for male smokers. Looks like the did not care for that.:twitchy:

Yeah, very easy app. The PHI was short and friendly. Had spanish speakers. Great people to work with and they pay claims within 24 hours of funeral home notice of death, no waiting for a DC. But their rates were just high compared to the market.

Where would you say the new rates are compared to the major players? Same for the app questions.

I used to write much more with them. They put on some nice conventions.

New rates are on par with Americo, more middle of the road now on immediate coverage, graded is available but also tighter and no PHI call, no insulin injections before 50, cancer twice is a knock out, furosimide\lasix now a ROP
added a medication hot list, still issue very fast, very accessible for questions, and as Lee mentioned people who have had to deal with a funeral in the past like the fast pay on non-contestable death claims

Forgot that Lasix was good. I also forgot that they did away with the PHI.

I like that they go to $35,000 on level, More companies should.
