I can "C" why the "D's" are going to be in real trouble.
The first thing Jacqueline said is "Obviously the guys must be the one's coming up with that proposal. I didn't hear any mention of PSA tests for men." She has a point.
Oh I don't know. The government is increasingly encouraging "watchful waiting" now as the preferred means of "treatment for prostate cancer." It started as the recommendation for men in their 90's and now it is down to about age 70. You can see where this is headed.
Also the person in charge is a woman, Katherine Sebelius. That is who the panel makes recommendations to so that is her job to review it. (dealth panels anyone?)
Having said that, the expenditure of health dollars on women far, far exceeds that on men in this country so all should be prepared for women to feel the impact of "cost savings" I will leave it to Mr. Obama, Ms. Sebelius and the death panels to decide what is a savings versus "best practice based on outcomes."
