How is that for leadership?

It is not just a matter of whatever bills are hung up now. He has never prepared or presented a bill. He is just saying that we want some funds positioned so if something good comes along.

As one dem congressman put it in something I read the other day, "he sent us out there to support his health reform plan but then couldnt tell us what it was." So true.

Note to the libs here. Why dont you stop asking what the repubs alternative is and start demanding that Obama say what his plan is for a change. I am okay with it either way but it is the dems who are not these days. Justifiably so. Take it up with the dems, not Bush.

DON'T ASK WHERE THE REPUB PLAN IS. ASK WHERE WE CAN GO AND READ THE OBAMA PLAN. GOOD GRAVY! WE ARE YEARS INTO THIS SINCE HE STARTED CAMPAIGNING. WHERE'S THE BEEF?

Obama: Health care is not dead - The Oval: Tracking the Obama presidency

On this Super Bowl week, Obama employed a huddle of football analogies to describe the current standing of health care.

"We're essentially on the 5-yard line," Obama said. "So we've had to go into overtime, but we are now in the red zone, that's exactly right. We're in the red zone. We've got to punch it through."

I guess he doesn't realize that you can kick a field goal to win in overtime too.

Well you know. The most important element of the whole damn bill was the $1.25 BILLION for a high speed rail line between Tampa and Orlando.

As I recall, it's not much over an hour to drive between the cities (86 miles between) so I'm sure they really need the Jetsons upgrade to keep on keeping on.

After completion in 4 1/2 years, time for the Orlando to Miami route. Now, that does take a couple more hours drive time.

I'm sure you all completely understand why we absolutely must fund the high speed rail between Tampa and Orlando TODAY! You know, given all our other priorities.

No, no, no Mr Bill. High speed rail is a JOBS bill, not health care reform.

And my guess is the line from Tampa to Orlando won't even start for 4 - 5 years and maybe be completed in less than 10 years.

Hope the middle FL folks can wait that long for a good paying job.

Speaking of which, I read something a few days ago that said the trains would be built in Europe or Japan where they have been building these kind of trains for years.

Change you can deceive in.

Whats pathetic is how LONG it takes us to build. The empire state building was built in under one year DURING the depression.

4 1/2 years? What a joke...

How about the WTC why is that not rebuilt after 10 years?

Go to China - you will see nothing but cranes everywhere, unlikely to be 10 years to build a building.
