I been primarily writing auto policies, now I want to venture into the realm of homeowners. What company should I get an appointment with if I am targetting the middle class? I would like something with no production requirements because I cannot promise the sales yet. Any recommendation would be greatly appreciated!

How in the world can you only write auto policies and not homes.

A client calls you and says, I need auto and home quotes, what do you say? I will do your auto but not your home?

Do clients really want 2 agents for 2 policies?

Somehow I dont believe this........

Right now I have Foremost, Fidelity and Aegis. But they aren't very competitive. A small percentage of my policies are HO.

A little about our agency, my father started this business 6 years ago located in the poorer side of town targeting nonstandard auto and competing against Fred Loya and Fiesta Auto. Now I my father is 70 years old and we are currently transferring the business over to me. I have realized that nonstandard is more headache than it's worth and have been making diligent efforts in moving penetrate the standard market.

I just graduated and have recently acquired my health and life license and hooked up with HCO. I am currently with Superior Access but have found that they are difficult to issue policies with. Basically I am just trying to find my way and seeking advice wherever I can find it. I appreciate all the feedback, I assure you that I am more nervous about all this than you guys are about me as I am diving head first into all the insurance classes and training myself.
