As of January 1st Colorado did the same thing plus threw in maternity coverage "as any other illness". Most rates seem to have come back fairly reasonable. Aetna hasn't posted new rates and UHO seem to be on the high side.

I know I commented on this before and no one from the left coast responded....The article mentions ONLY 2 things determining rates ie Age and Gender is Tobacco use not factored is there no tobacco question?
Tobacco is used.
People seem to be okay with that, at least so far. State has to be okay with it. I think the current taxes on a pack of cigarettes is around $43.25. Don't worry, they charge this to support childrens health insurance.

By the way, I don't smoke, so I don't know what the taxes really are, but they are very high.
