Calling First?

I call forever. I run my appts every hour on the hour. I rarely have time to knock.
If there is any drive time between appointments, then you are allowing about 45 minutes, for the intro, presentation and close? How do you get it done that quickly if you are using a carrier that requires a POS?

Well I get to my 1st appt 15 min early. And there's always a no show or 2 that gets me back on track if I start getting later to appts. If I'm more than 30 min late to an appt, I call them and skip it and move on to the next. I write mostly 5 star and Americo. So no PHI.

Most of my leads are within 10 min of each other. If they're farther, I will schedule out 90 min.

OK.. Makes sense.. Whenever I set an appointment, I normally allow 90 minutes for life presentations.. but then I can get into the visiting thing if it is somebody I enjoy talking with. If not, I wrap it up early and go get a cup of coffee!:1biggrin:

It's all about persistence. I once door knocked a lead 276 times before getting in to write a nice $19 a month case. You've got to stay with it!

Dang, Moon I respect your persistence but if you just cold knocked 276 doors I would bet you could have written at least 3 $19 a month cases.

Just think all the gas you would have saved too!

I go with leads in hand and door knock. Works for me

It's amazing the amount of agents on here who can door knock and get multiple sales out of it. I'm stumped. Can I ask what you're doing/saying while at the door? Are you doing anything special between the time you get the lead and hit the door? I'm having a lousy time door knocking -- hard time getting people to answer; "We already have insurance..."; "My wife sent this in but she's not home now"; "We didn't know what it was we were signing up for" (What the heck?); "Thought we'd get something back in the mail"; etc., etc. I've only gotten inside to make 4 presentations for about 25 leads the past two weeks. NO SALES. Yes, I have a copy of the lead with me to show them at the door. Obviously I know it's ME as I'm brand new at this. It just seems so counterintuitive to show up unexpectedly and then expect them to just let you in to sell them insurance. How are you guys so successful at it? I KNOW I need to work on the presentation but getting in the door is my bigger obstacle right now.

Thanks for any advice.
