Can You Believe the Nerve of Sebelius?

Re: Can You Believe the Nerve of Sebelius?!

Exactly what response did you expect? Of course she is going to try to deflect the blame being put on her or Obama.

Scare tactics? I honestly think congress, the president, and Sebeluis may not understand the statement in bold.

"Health insurance premiums are increasing because of soaring prices for medical services, the impact of younger and healthier people dropping their insurance during the weak economy, and additional benefits required under the new law," said Karen Ignagni, president of the insurers' trade group. "It's a basic law of economics that additional benefits incur additional costs."

Sebelius asked Ignagni to help stop "misinformation and scare tactics."

Can the rates be unjustified if approved by the states DOI?

"Simply stated, we will not stand idly by as insurers blame their premium hikes and increased profits on the requirement that they provide consumers with basic protections," Sebelius said. She warned that bad actors may be excluded from new health insurance markets that will open in 2014 under the law. They'd lose out on a big pool of customers, as many as 30 million people nationwide.

Is this extortion? The feds are supposedly creating this new pool of customers but if the companies don't do what they the feds want they will be excluded.

This part right here shows they either don't understand economics or like making bald faced lies. There will be a cost to every patient for these preventive care benefits. Unless the Drs and Labs are required to provide their services for free (and in case anyone is wondering the answer is Nope Nade not gonna happen) what makes you think the insurance company will do this for free...Yes there will be no co-pay for these services but they will be built into the premium.

If premiums increase, how can it be for free? The only true way to make it for free is to coerce docs into providing their services at no charge.

Of course, then it still isn't free because the docs have to make up for their time lost by padding the bills of other patients.

On, and on, and on.

Basically it's like this...

1. government dictates how ins companies run their business
2. government dictates operating costs & margins
3. government says "shut up" and take our bad medicine(no pun intended)

Communism? If it looks like a duck...

So far in his 2 plus years in office, all I see the Obama Admin do is blame others for their failure.
