Cancel Rewrite

I have a prospect that has come to me with a few policies. Once of the policies has the named insured incorrect in addition to the physical address is also incorrect.
I have requested to the carrier with two substantial errors on this type of policy please allow for a cancel and rewrite. The carrier is giving me some pushback on a rewrite.
I have chatted with other carriers and this seems like the perfect senecio for a cancel rewrite. Would you push for the carrier for a rewrite option?
