Just saw the preview for this on the Today show. A large portion of the program seems to focus on the "Annuity University" sales seminars for agents.

They have this guy on tape saying "Annuities are more liquid that any other financial instrument". Can we say BUSTED???

Lots of names were dropped: Allianz, Avia, Sun, American Equity....

Yep, that's the guy.

He is screwed. On Sunday night, millions and millions of people will see how he makes a living by preying on the venerable.

Always sad to see the under-belly of our industry in the news....

Yes, and last we looked we couldn't find the website. Annuity university, seminar university, IRA university, there was one more as I recall. But Tyrone Clark/Broker's Choice was the upline to a whole lotta FMOs - John Naylor, Jean Anne Dorrell.....

I know Bill Harris is still around but I don't think he's tied to any one FMO.

Either Mr. Pink and I have the same FMO or all the savvy FMOs started damage control yesterday.

This is going to hurt those of us who depend on honest and suitable annuity sales to position some of a senior's assets in a safe place that cannot get killed in the market.

The bottom line in yesterday's FMO conference call was to put a positive spin on this and when asked whether we have seen the Dateline show respond with "Yeah, wasn't it great?"

It will, perhaps, get some of the bad apples out of the business, but it will also be harmful for the good guys. We shall see. It can't be any worse than being asked to visit a client for an unspecified reason and then seeing a copy of the Allianz class action suit notice on the coffee table.

We all know you do not sell annuities, let alone specialize in the senior market. So how can you make a statement like that? Pretty ignorant statement if you ask me.
