So what is the difference between being independent and working with a company like Mass Mutual on their career plan?
It seems like this would be the best of both worlds where you could lead with health and have a brand name behind you for your other products. No?
I am not 100% sure how the Mass Mutual contract reads. However, maybe they are like many carriers that offer 1099 contracts in a "career" system. In this situation, you are technically independent. However, they strongly encourage you to spend 100% of your time only selling their product lines. Also, if your goal is to promote into a management level with a firm like this, they will typically expect this to be the case. Generally companies with contracts like this do not think "career" force, as far as selling other carrier products. Good luck.
