Carrier Contracting with Obama Care.

It's my understanding that agents must be contracted directly with all carriers they wish to sell.

It's also my understanding there will only be a single box to indicate an agency/agent number. Unless you want commissions paid to an agency, you'll be doing everything as an agent.

That said, at least over here in NY, no brokers, brokerages, or GA's have a finalized contract/producer agreement that I've heard of. Of course, the final decision always comes down to what the lawyers say.

1) find carriers selling obama care
2) call them
3) say "i want to sell your obama care, what do I need to do?"
4) do what they say
5) sell obama care
6) maybe get paid sometime
7) if you want to sell obama care through the obama store online, you have to get "exchange certified", which is basically a few dollars and two days worth of studying and exams. The process varies by state. Call your state's department of insurance for direction.

I got told by Ameri Health and Horizon that I have to go through general agency. They gave me a list of them. They are like an FMO for Medicare. No contracting direct.
