Looking at the calendar for next month gives me a freaking headache. Could those two holidays be in a more inconvenient spot of the week? What are you guys planning to do. I don't like the idea of taking two weeks off because of 4 midweek holidays but curious what everyone else is doing.

When I was in the field full time, the only days I took off completely were Christmas Day and Thanksgiving day. At worst, I would add in an extra day around both of those holidays, but I typically plan on being out and selling as much as possible no matter how inconvenient. I've always liked selling around the holidays. Folks can get busy for sure, but I find that I encounter a more cheerful demeanor at the door this time of year.

Honestly, I don't think there is a wrong way to do it. I just know that if someone is new in the business, they probably can't afford to take days off. If you can manage your money and take off, I applaud you. I don't think there are many like you, Dave!

If I'm talking to an agent that needs cash flow, my aim is to give them confidence that they can sell during the holiday season and not just survive, but thrive! I would never ask someone to do something I wasn't willing to, and so I go out in my ugly Christmas sweater and take care of my people!

I wear my freakishly garish, yet strangely beautiful, Christmas ties! (I even used to have one that played "Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer" if you squeezed it!)

Although it would be a way to get both the door and the storm door open, I am not sure that it is a prudent sales procedure to allow prospective customers to grab hold of a garment that encircles one's neck.:1laugh:
