Clarification on Med sup trial right

GI for supplements is about conversion rights. Not the same as GI for final expense.

Doesn't matter if they stay with a MA plan or go back to a supplement. Their health condition remains the same.
Correct but it's the sick people muddying the pool of med supps . It's called adverse selection . If the GI population keyed on a particular carrier it's devastating for rates .The vast vast majority of people in 2025 returning to sups on 2 million termed mapd's were sicker people. That's why supp carriers will term agents who give them a lot of GI business . Carriers track agents on this metric .

What carrier is going to terminate an agent for following the law? Again, GI in the supplement world is about a person's conversion rights.

And when have you seen a medicare agent chasing GI business?

The supplement business doesn't work like that.

I've seen a few threads on this forum with concerns about being terminated for "low quality" business over the years, but have never met an agent where it has happened.

I think that is more common in the P&C arena, where that kind of stuff actually happens. I wonder if that mentality spilled over into the Medicare space and that's where it's coming from?

I don't exactly "chase" the GI business, but it definitely finds me. Often from people moving to Florida from the Great Blue North and losing their MAPD, Employer coverage etc..
Especially over the past few years, I have written quite a few of them, and I haven't lost any appointments, haven't even had a market manager call me complaining about the GI business.
Also, I was always paid full commish because I live in the Land of Unicorns.

Unicorns are awesome 😎

Thanks for reminding me about your unicorns and fairy dust Turd Blossom.

Up here in Georgia, we don't get full commission. We have to ride a damn armadillo to work.

But you're right about the low quality business getting you termed. Definitely in P&C. Also in life. Especially in FE.

Medico and other carriers have mentioned on video's they monitor and will terminate agents who write a lot of it . They spent 5 mins of the video talking how agents have a responsibility to "protect" the carrier and not flood it with "bad" business . Don't shoot the messenger I'm just reporting from many groups and even video's from carriers. The moral of the story is spread your Gi business around . We both know you're giving the new carrier heavy claims with GI business. And yes they every carrier has a right to terminate you for no cause and that includes bringing heavy claim business to them . In the past several GI life company's have sent out emails saying they monitor claims data . If you have heavy claims they'd term you . I don't blame them . Your business is losing them money
