Closers versus Insurance Salespersons ???

I am not familiar with other states, but I do know that in Texas an agent can pay you for referrals, but if they only pay you for closed deals than you MUST be licensed. I do also know that in order to give a quote or take money from someone you MUST be licensed. If all you were doing was describing the benefits and getting a solid confirmation of interest then you would probably be operating within the boudaries of the law. But the agent has to pay you for every referral, closed or not.

I missed the fun on this I guess...

I'm in agreement; why not just get appointed? Some IMO's will do everything but sign the contracts for you...

He must have debit balance and be vectored or something?

So Tom, how is it going for you now? been a couple of months to build your super sales team of unlicensed closers at a low commission?

our office utuilizes "jr. associates", basically new guys to the business, they do the paperwork, grunt work, and follow up while they learn the business. It has really worked well and cost effective for our office because we don't need to continually add new staff.

I see potential E&O problems. Not trying to say you're selling unethically but what licensed agent would feel comfortable doing this?

I agree. It is like a doctor letting someone else do an operation in his or her name. The Closer should find a way to do this the traditional way.

There is no shortage of agencies looking for good sales people.

Listen,

As quick as this guy wanted to move in to the insurance business, that's how fast he'll leave it. By this time next year, he will be on the Mortgage REFI forum, doing the same thing to them.

He likes the "newness" of it all. Once that wears off, it's on to another venture.

He already admitted what he is. We can't, and won't be able to, change him. He truly cares about one thing, and one thing only - the green in his jeans.

The rest of us will be there to share in the swath of misguided, misdirected victims. We'll be there to pick up the pieces. I wish he would publish his name, number and mailing address, so that when we encourage someone to hire a Prepaid Legal Attorney, it would be easier to name him in the lawsuit.

But, he's not willing to stand behind his work, like a true professional.

He's admitted his Attention Deficit, and Inability to properly represent a service to those who are in need, and may truly want, what he and his ilk have to offer.

What's really  sad is that he probably contacts more people in one day than most of us do in a month. What makes it :arghh: is that his severe lack of ethics would eliminate a true professional from working with him. He'll get his "foot in the door", which is something we all would admire. However, he'd lie to get someone to sign. And that's where the "guilt by association" would leave only the bottom feeders for him to work with.

I am married to a Social Worker, and can tell you that, from a professional standpoint, there is a real "Self-Esteem" issue going on here, and anyone who associates with him will be taken down with him. Why can't he take all this energy, and desire, and use it for some good?

He is entertaining to observe, and I try to follow his logic, but I thank the one above that I am not like that.

Good luck to him, though!

Hope he knows the number and address to his state's Insurance Commissioner's office:policeman:.

Sounds to me like you just need to start an agency. But if all you're after is just wealth I'd imagine there are much more lucrative markets for true closers than insurance.

I agree, just start an agency and make bucks, I really can't figure out the motive here, making large volumes of cash is fine, but why give it away?

A wise person once told me, "Never teach a pig to sing. It wastes your time and annoys the pig".

Singing lessons are over.

The Bible puts it this way ""Do not give dogs what is sacred; do not throw your pearls to pigs. If you do, they may trample them under their feet, and then turn and tear you to pieces."

Some people cannot understand what you are saying to them.

:arghh:

Is that proverbs? Where? I like that one.
