Of course they hate competition or savvy consumers who don't want 25% of their income going to healthcare premiums. Next they may nix faith-based healthcare sharing exemptions that serve that segment of the population well. The fact is Obamacare can not sustain itself in the long term which will force the move towards a single-payer government run program in the future and the left knows this full well!!!

Reversing course on the "If you like your plan you can keep it" idea was meant to avoid political suicide. This idea of taking away STM and CI could possibly be political suicide too, or it could look like Obama to the rescue. Depends on which spin gets hits the hottest media button.

I could see Hillary getting clobbered if she defends Obamacare, and says it's best to take away options, so more people will get into a plan they can't afford, or get fined a tax penalty, while raising the uninsured rate.
Or Hillary could look like the savior of Obamacare by stopping those bad insurance companies from taking away the young and healthy, and discriminating against people with pre-existing conditions.

Time to call your senators/congresspersons to let them know of proposed federal agency encroachments in the (formerly state governed) insurance business.

No mention of how to cover the millions of undocumented or "visa" overstays. Guess they will be covered / treated due to good samaritan laws which forces providers to give care then provider can't collect on 30% to 50% of charges...hmm... Guess our HC costs will just continue to rise same as always.

I do sell short term. Two this week. It works great for those who fall under the threshold of getting subsidies and those who do not qualify for medicaid. You know, those who make money "under the table", or working poor, who cannot afford $300-$400 for a decent Silver plan, but can afford, $150-$200 with an addition of a supplement. Or for those who make too much for a subsidy who also have nasty high premiums, (particularly those small business owners who are in their mid to late 50s who are healthy as a horse still).
Also, works well for those who are exempt for penalties. The article above says that these changes will not prevent consumers from owing a penalty. Gotta be careful here when selling ST, and simply do all the math. '

Also, for those who do sell ST, it's an excellent time to add on your CI supps and RX supps since most ST doesn't cover RX, or cap Rx at $3000...or only offer a discount plan for Rx.
