Contractor "paying" Roof Deductible - FRAUD or Not? Legal or Not?

Re: Contractor "paying" Roof Deductible - FRAUD or Not? Legal or

I have seen it happen with health insurance more than a few times.

Provider is going to bill for a very large claim (is a par provider) and tells the patient not to worry about the deductible because the NFR they are going to get is so huge.

These cases are usually where the service is retailing for over $500k pre-negotiation.

As far as the carrier is concerned, it is between the subscriber and the provider on settling up the deductible. So long as the provider credits it for the subscriber.

On a side note, I have seem some amazing negotiated rate discounts. I saw one on a client billed out at $850k (inpatient infusion/stem cell/etc) negotiated down under $100k.

I am in the middle of a claim from water damage, I have a 1000 deductible. Adjuster came out and reviewed what needs to be done, added up the damages and wrote me a check for the total less the deductible. As long as no one dummies up false billing statements for additional damage, ie to cover the deductible, you are ok. i would be wary.
