I've got a family friend that is being accused of date rape.. He;s 29, shes 25.. If it goes to conviction, he will have to be a registered sex offender on probation. He wants to be a life and health agent. If he gets his license before the guity conviction, will the license remain or would it be revoked? thanks..

settle out of court.....................................................................

So many bad jokes, so little time.

He will have to report it to the DOI who will determine if he can remain licensed. He can almost certainly count on his license being revoked during his incarceration and subsequent probation. Good chance it will be permanent. If not, he'll have to have a DOI hearing afterwards to determine if he is of high enough moral character to be licensed.

And who cares what their ages are? There is no such thing as date rape. Either he raped the woman or he didn't. If he did, he deserves every bit of punishment he receives and then some. If not, I hope he can get it resolved and put behind him quickly.

As a felony, he'll have to report it to the DOI, even if he has his license. Might as well as save the time and money right now, get this behind him, then see about applying.

He's got a bigger problem than getting his insurance license. If he did it, I would look for another line of work.

IF he did it, then insurance is NOT a good career. The reason being, is that we agents get told "no", quite a bit. So IF he did it, he obviously can't understand the word "no". Hopefully, he's innocent, but if guilty, he needs to be whacked off....but not in a good way.

The other problem I see is that even if he had his license, getting appointed could cause problems. If he really wants to do insurance then he can do lead generation on a per lead basis and do pretty well.

What company would take the liability of having a registered sex offender represent them..He needs to handle the potential conviction first

Now, now....if he did it, he'd probably make a great agent. After all, a good insurance salesman never takes no for an answer!
