copay card for costly brand name drug for commercial insurance approved in july starts medicare in august ?

my understanding is the copay cards for the most expensivest drugs like in this case Stalera (about 8000.00) are not valid for people on medicare.If the copay card was just approved in july before she applied for medicare will it continue to be valid at all past july? I told them it won't AFAIK but anybody have any input on this?

Any government plan can not use those copay options. (Only commercial) There may be another program on that medicine they can apply for that accepts government plans like Medicare

the Medicare member will not be able to use the the copay plan anymore. Pharmacies are able to see the plan they are on when using the discount at the pharmacy They will have to look for the patient assistance program for Medicare and be approved financially.
