Coventry AOR Contract Change

I just got a letter from Coventry yesterday informing me they are changing the terms of the contract previously signed with me to allow clients to change the AOR.

I think this is an attempt to position themselves to send their captives out on a hunt. If they move all the independents' clients under the company umbrella, it looks like they will then stop renewals. What a way to save money!....

It may be an attempt to cover their butts because they're allowing captives to call on existing business now. I think they violate MA compliance when they send an agent out on an independent Coventry brokers client.

I think they violate the unwritten rule of independent agency force.

Thou shall not steal from nor kill the goose that lays the golden egg!
