I still take advances after all these years.. It is more a psychological thing than anything else... I have a hard time making myself get out and chase a $50 commission but a $300 commission is a bit more enticing. The key is not to let charge backs add up. I noticed this morning I had a charge back with Columbian.. Even though my end of the month settlement would cover it, I called this morning and paid it off. Friday, after it has posted to my card, I will pay the card balance off. In the meantime, I will 3% cash back on the card for the amount that I paid.

I still take advances, with a smile on my face, after 21 straight years selling FE. With SL the advance is an interest free loan. Good businessmen don't refuse interest free loans, even if they don't need the loan. They'll take that loan and put it somewhere earning interest or pay down debt that accumulates interest. To refuse an interest free loan is a bad business decision. There's no other explanation.
