I had a couple interviews with Cuna to become an LTC agent for them.
They are captive, but offer free leads. Commission is 35% on average. I'm Interested if anyone has known someone who worked for them.

They have the credit union's locked down, and have a pretty good product with 10 yr rate guarantee. They also broker John Hancock and Met life.

Any help?

Hello,

I interviewed with them as well. They sounded good on the surface and they pump up what the "top producers" are making but you don't know the circumstances/narket conditions the "top producers" are in. Most likely they are fed many leads.

I see many flaws in the system. They are less than straightforward as to what your territory is and approx. how many leads they can provide. In fact the territory for me was 2 hours in each direction. The manager can be rude if asked too many questions about leads and territory.

My opinion is I am better off staying independent. I can control where I work, get top commissions and no headaches of dealing with management.

Why would anyone want to sell/buy CUNA if they are not even a blip on the radar of established LTC carriers. They also are not in the best financial shape either the last time I checked. I would not want to bet on them 30 years down the road still being in this business.

As bad as GNW Comdex rating may be, I would take a genworth plan over a CUNA plan anyday......just for safety.

That's my opinion and I am sticking with it.:1eek:
