Current Top 5 FE Carriers?

Settlers is a good one. They are more competitive on small face amounts $5,000 or less than larger ones.

The worst thing about them is no point of sale approvals and they don't allow replacement in Kentucky.

Newby, what do you mean? Settlers requires a POS phone interview. What am I missing?

Some companies give a POS approval at the phone interview. ForeThought, 5-Star, RNA, Oxford, AmCont all do this.

The worst way to do it is to require a phone interview but not make a decision until a week or so later. VERY inefficent for the agent and you will lose sales due to this sometimes. I'd rather just not do the phone interview at all if it's not going to give us a rapid decision.

Settlers doesn't have a point of sale interview that you can do to get an immediate answer. Some agents like the POS interviews and Newby is one of those that does.

That's not an issue for me because I don't like them but the not doing replacements in Ky is why Settlers is not one of my companies.

JD what EFES manager would you recommend a new agent contact to become part of the team?

1. Ask anyone that has had a death claim. They are so slow and rude that even when they do pay the claim 10 months after the death and 5-months after they had all the medical records, that your beneficiary still never forgives you for selling such a company. Nor should they.

2. Foreign company

3. A fraternal with NO attractive fraternal benefits.

4. They keep slowly getting worse.

5. Just no reason to tolerate them.

Thanks for the clarification, Newby. When my step-mom passed away, my sister & I didn't get the payment for several months. They were insured by a fraternal. Is that just a fraternal thing to take so long? Foresters is the first fraternal I've worked with.

It's all of them during the contestable period and most do not pay the claim at all if in the contestable period.
