Delivering the Policy

It means he excels and yet he doesn't do all the things the conventional wisdom say you have to do.

A lot of that conventional wisdom comes from failed agents who become managers or FMOs and teaching what they "think" should work.

Beating everyone up to get lame referrals is a perfect example. This comes from FMOs that want new agents to think that's how the successful guys get leads. This allows the FMO to either supply you with less real leads (if you are on a lead program) or pay you too low of commission for the numbers to work with you buying the number of leads you really need.

If you are failing due to lack of enough quality leads they can blame your lack of ability to generate enough "referrals" on each appointment.

Quality referrals come naturally. Not the way the "sales managers" generally teach new agents.

FE agents can learn a lot by just copying JDs business model and teachings.

Another reason to deliver the policy.

The insurance company attached a copy of the application for the person I sold, to the policy of another person, who was located in another state.

Here you go Mr Customer, your policy, oops ...:D

I have certainly seen that happen. Doesn't happen often but there are mistakes.

Biggest one wsa aut 5 years ago and I wasnt delivern policies. God size case. $175/mo SIWL. Issued and I was paid. The company sent the policy to the insured and sent it as graded. It was written as immediate and approved as immediate. Th family hit the ceilig bu ortunately I had sveal othr famly embers insured and they let me get i ixed. The guy still te policy to this day.

That could have easily turned out differently. So now I do check them before I deliver them.

Even if you don't want to deliver the policy F2F, that shows why it is a good idea to have the company send you the policy and then you mail it to the client. That way, you can make sure everything is right before the client receives it. It is well worth the small extra expense and amount of time incurred .

Second that. Plus having copies of value and non forfeiture pages can come in handy down the road.

The guy at the computer store told me when I bought this wireless keyboard earlier this year that he didn't like wireless keyboards. I didn't understand why so I bought it anyway. Now I know why.

I hope you got a "no strings attached" warranty.
