Unbelievable!!! I just got off the phone with a Rep from MOO (United World in NJ) as I wanted to find out how they will pay for a case where I was moving someone from a Standard Med Sup (not written by me) to a Modern Med Sup, and they told me that they would not pay any commission to me as the writing agent and the old agent would not get the commish either, because they are no longer the agent of record!!! Could not believe that... Is anyone out there that have heard this, or was this rep just pulling my chain!!:1eek:

Yes, that is their standard operating procedure. Why not write them with another carrier? Is UW the cheapest? Just doing a quick check for zip code 07011, female age 68, Gerber and Family Life are both cheaper than UW.

As far as I know, this is the standard procedure for all companies. I think you can chalk this one up to a valuable lesson. It happened to me once when I first started selling med supps, but only once, and that is the same thing that will happen with you.

However, with MOO, it is possible to get switched to the agent of record if the client will write them a letter stating they want this to happen and why. This is not gauranteed though.

make life easy, switch them to another company, but be prepared to answer why you didn't offer the lower priced med supp forst. What will your answer be?

This is of course from a MOO Standard Plan to a MOO Modern Plan right? Not from a different company to MOO?
Yes, going from standard to Modern, same company

I would try to get them to Gerber, but I don't want to wait 30-50 days for it to go thru underwriting (I don't think they will go thru):nah:... and it is the same issue with FL

Well I guess you should just work for free then. Additionally, how long do you think the underwriting will take if you write them a modernized plan with MOO? It still has to go through underwriting as if it were a new application so either way you're going to have a long wait for underwriting whether it's Gerber or MOO.

If that's the case then he would write the client with Gerber or Family Life since they are less expensive.

At least you will have that warm fuzzy feeling knowing you did what was best for your prospect and not what was best for you.
This is the Obama effect

WOW!!! Let it be known that I don't like Obama.. but blaming him for MIPAA, and MOO decision not to pay commissions, it is not only unfair but extremely partisan

PS. Oh, by the way, he is also not responsible for the war in Iraq, Afghanistan, or the Great Recession of 2008 (no matter what Glenn Beck says!!)

He did promise to end the war, bring home the troops and close Guantanamo Bay. How is that going? Everyone has sort of forgotten about the troops overseas due to the oil spill. Conspiracy anyone?
