I clicked on a FB ad about leads today. After answering a few questions the pricing was very similar to DIMG. Then a few minutes later got a call from Eqita which ended up with the rep hanging up on me. He asked too many questions and I assume he didn't like my answers. What is the relationship between DIMG and Equita?

Who is DIMG?

But why would Equita call me and try to recruit me?

Heard from several sources through the grapevine that Equita owns or has a stake in DIMG. That might explain the new price structure etc. So now when you buy leads from Thad, you are buying leads from a large organization that can now telemarket to your leads and also redistribute/re-sell leads to their own agents.

I do not know if this is true, but I got dinged with messages from several people in the last hour telling me that this is the case - DIMG is Equita ... that's the word on the street at any rate.

The guy from Equita that called me wanted to know who my FMO was, how much my contracts paid, who was my primary carrier, etc. After I told him I was happy with my situation he asked "Then why was I online shopping for leads" and he hung up on me. I didn't request a call I was just looking at prices of leads online from an ad that showed up on FB.

Caller was an ***... 1) agents look for lead providers all the time even though they aren't looking for an FMO. 2) Agents should be wary of providing all that information to someone who has basically just cold called them. 3) You should always be be polite and end a contact on a possitive note. Who knows when an agent's situation might change and they will be looking for an FMO. They certainly aren't likely going to go looking to some oen who was outright rude for a new contract.
