Direct Mail Question

The $700 does not include postage and mail setup costs. The printing at gotprint.net is half the price here and the quality is superior to any product we have seen. You are right you do get what you pay for....for far less.

You need to shop and understand what you are investing your hard earned money into. Most companies like Cactus actually use GotPrint.net for their printing and mark it up. Not say they do, but some of the best known names on the web for printing subcontract to companies like gotprint.

It does include the mail setup costs and design. The design is $190, printing $299, and addressing and mail service for 5,000 pieces is $185.

I'm pretty happy with the prices and extremely pleased with the quality.

Doesn't the USPS have a new neighborhood mailing service that is really cheap....has anybody used it?

Your are correct, $299 is for Postcards. I was looking at the 8.5x11 fold in half for mailing. That price is $709 for printing at Cactus. I was looking at that piece to stay in line from the wishes of the original question.

To compare a 8.5x11 half fold printing for cactus is $709 and for Gotprint $248 for 5000 pieces. Big difference in printing costs.

A 4x6 2 sided color postcard for printing at Cactus is $299 and at Gotprint $114 for 5000 pieces. Design and Postage setup is similar.

You have to shop it.

I was quoting 5.5 x 8.

Rick

Too expensive if you want to filter the recipient list because the service they (USPS) provide sends it to all boxes in the zip of your choosing. The price is reasonable for that service ......if that is what you want to do.

Yes, it's very cheap: USPS- Every Door Direct Mail

The problem is you're not filtering by anything, so you could be sending a final expense piece to a 30 year old or a Medicare piece to a 40 year old. Most neighborhoods aren't homogenous enough for most of the products we sell. I think it drops the postage down to 13.9 cents or something like that.

That is illeagle in Indiana...
Not in Cali.........they are endangered here and most are out of work too. Besides needing the work, they like to work at night.....less traffic and they offer real reasonable rates for off hours

Agreed and even though the company I use can filter household incomes it is pretty weak when it comes to filtering age groups and that is a huge consideration. The compelling thing is the pricing and the idea that you can get into 10 times the households for the same price as most of the leads costs I have read about here. I should also note the quality is excellent

This could be a good option for med supps/FE in retirement communities. There are whole cities out here that are strictly 55+. The only thing I'm not sure about it how to have your postcard or mail piece have free postage on it so the client doesn't need to place a stamp on it.

Income is a tough filter because there isn't really a great way to source it. Name, address, phone number, age, and home value are typically the most reliable filters.

How many other pieces are riding along with your piece?

The pricing is for printing and not for delivery/mail. factor in that and the price is closer to mailers. I would use Postcards from Gotprint.net for a lower postage rate. 2,500 delivered and printed runs close to $1,000. Gotprint is a less expensive than say Postcardmania.com

You can get 3,000 BRM's for that much...
