I have Kaiser and everytime I go to an appointment they ask me if I have another insurance company also.

I had to sign something today, telling them that they are the only insurance that I have.

What happens if I do have another company. Will they split some of my bills or what?

I wish I had more than 1 company..lol

For several years I had to fill out that form, although I've never had Kaiser. I think it was about once a year. This didn't happen at the appointment. I think it was a form they sent in the mail. They wouldn't pay any claims until you sent it in.

If you have two group plans (e.g. when both spouses have different group plans) they will coordinate the benefits (COB) because you can't have more than 100% paid. Since I was covered under my wife's insurance, I figure they were also wishing I had group coverage of my own so they could be secondary instead of primary.

A lot of employers are no longer allowing spouses on the plan if the spouse can get coverage through his or her own employer. Usually this comes from HR versus the insurance company.
