Anyone know the status with TX docs and whether they accept assignment as a general rule? In some states, most docs accept assignment ...

Sorry, I was typing with a baby in my lap ... trying to post before he smashed the keyboard ... I meant, as frank stated, Medicare assignment ... does anyone know?

You can go to medicare.gov, and serch for physicians by county. I just did tarrant county for the heck of it. They have a little green "P" for participating physician next to their name, then they have agreed to accept assignment. The black symbol says "NP" , then they do not. Just scrolling down on general practitioners, yes, a lot of them do. Here is a quote from the website about "assignement".

"Participating physicians agree to accept assignment on all claims. These physicians may only bill you your share of the costs (deductible and coinsurance amounts). Medicare pays the physician directly."
