I heard from a good source that Secure Horizons is dropping PPFS plans in my area for 2010. I would assume other areas will be effected also.

What area? I have heard Humana is going to offer PFFS but with networks inside the program.

PFFS is gone in most areas as of 2011, per the Baucus Bill of July, 2008. The wild card is the possibility of a "network PFFS", which is being looked at by a few companies.

A few companies have pulled out of PFFS one year early because they see the writing on the wall. The problem with that tactic is that they're losing those members to the competition. Maybe they've determined that they won't be able to put together stable PPO and/or HMO plans for those areas.

In Secure's case, I'd guess they can migrate PFFS plans to other plans.

That is the route CIGNA is taking (networked PFFS) they have actually increased their $0 premium counties for 2010 which is the exact opposite of most other carriers.

Well, I guess they are following the way of Wellcare then! I was/am (for what that is worth) an MGA with them and I lost all of my renewal income with a non-discript email for Kevin LeBlanc at WC. So sorry, we are not going to do that anymore... pardon all the hype to begin with... we screwed up or was caught (forgetting which:-)

So all that work and poof, vapor with the income! The great news is, talk to your CPA, there some huge write-offs and tax advantages when you are working with MA products. Year to year, it is like opening Pandora's box and saying... whoa, what the 'h...' is that.

My take... do not believe them, any of them. It is all smoke and mirrors! Probably best to focus in on other products as what you do or don't do, will land your 'a...' in the brink! So to speak, anyway..

Sorry to soft soap it! But then, I lost 62 grand in renewals over a two year period due to Wellcare's ineptitudes and blantant criminal activities. I just kept going back for just a 'wee' more! My advice to anyone consider MA is to get off the tracks.. see the light... it is no doubt a train headed in your directions.

RITTERS website has United Healthcare 2010 products on it in the Sales Materials Section for every state. It appears that there are fewer programs but still PFFS for 2010 for many areas. www.ritterim.com
