Don't Give Up when Your Getting Started in FE

Hi Angie, would you mind sharing which company/agency you went with on the final expense and also the preneed? Did you get local training or was this online/web? Thanks.

Some people are not meant for this business. You have to be good with helping and talking with people. Some agents are just too lazy to do this.

On the other hand, most of the successful agents, just never gave up. They didnt start off as Gurus or good agents. It takes time and practice to do this well.

Mark is right, it all takes time and practice. Write down your why? Why are you in this business, what do you want from it?
If your why is big enough it will get you thru the tough times. If you care about the people and always put there needs first the money will always follow. Stay in touch and build your referral
base and it will get easier. Good Luck to you!:)

With all respect, you're mistaken. Angie is in the funeral/cemetery business. Her first loyalty is to the funeral home/cemetery: to protect its reputation and profitability. If the funeral home goes out of business, there is no ability to serve families. Her second loyalty is to her own self, to protect her own reputation and profitability. Her third loyalty is to customers. It is a business and she must protect profits at the arrangement table. Too many funeral arrangers, and FE salesman think they are "helping families" by shorting contracts and leaving commissions on the table or being content with a small AP. It's a balancing act to get everything on a contract that should be there and serving families simultaneously...

Angie - just curious, did you learn on your own or did you have anyone to mentor?[/quote
I didn't do it on my own. I have a great mentor /IMO He is my Insurance Sensei. In general usage, it means "master" or "teacher". Just clarifying Sensei so I wont get roasted again. Ha.
