Door to Door Agent ID Cards

CMS does require an individual to carry appropriate identification, but it certainly is not for going door to door. I have a picture id that has my name, picture, and the non-profit organization that I work for. It is ONLY for individuals that have already requested an appointment and have never met me in person, but I can count the times that I have been asked for it on one hand. It stays in my pocket.

Going door to door with any type of Medicare Advantage pitch, and ESPECIALLY wearing a badge to do so is a compliance nightmare.

I don't understand this thread about MA plans. It's completely illegal to go door to door selling MA.

Despite the fact that I have a CSA (not shown on my business cards), I know about this.

Hello everyone,
I'm providing agent ID cards for my agents. You know the laminatred ones with your picture on them.
My question is what info is required on the card if any.
They sell both Medicare Advantage and Final Expense mostly.
I would imagine their picture, name and agency.
Can you think of anything else?

Thanks,

CMS specifically forbids door to door sales of Medicare Advantage.:nah:

I applaud anyone who takes the time and expense to better themselves and the job they do. The more we understand seniors and their issues, the more likely we will be empathetic and understanding to their cause. This will make all of us better agents.
Hopefully anyone that obtains the CSA designation would not try to use it as a symbal of prestige to show that they are better than an agent who doesn't have one, or for that matter to try to show a client that they are better suited to help them just because of their designation.

I primarily sell annuities and most of the carriers I deal with PROHIBIT agents from using the CSA designation, along with other designations that are without rigorous standards.

That's exactly my point about it being a compliance nightmare. Imagine what CMS is going to do when a senior citizen complains that someone came to their door, showed a badge, and talked to them about Medicare Advantage!

where in the original post did he say they were going door to door? :goofy:

You know, I just re-read this and you are correct. (Do you know how hard it is for me to type that?)

Wellcare used to give their independent agents ID cards and we all know what a dishonest company they are (see their Duet plan). Okay, that's just my opinion so don't sue over it.

SCAN is a CA MA plan that provided them for their indy agents as well. They required that we use them when going to enroll our prospects.

I pretty much refused to use any of that crap. I don't even have my name on my business card. My card says Frank Stastny.
