Not in Tennessee either. I was looking forward to Assurant being ON the exchange this year. They have a total of 6 plans across all tiers.
Blue has 26 plans. I priced out a 54 Female NT with $20,000 income. Comparing as close as I could similiar deductible, co pays etc.
Blue $110.00 a month
Assurant $356.00 a month
LMAO... Now I know the rates on healthcare.gov aren't finalized yet, but I doubt they will change $200.00 plus dollars.
Assurant won't be getting much business.

Looks like Blue will own the business here again this year. Cigna, and Humana are weak in their offerings as well. We have a co op that was priced high last year, that looks like they may be strong in some pockets.. Weak hospital providers in many counties.. ugh... Folks are not going to be happy.

Depends where.

I know some places they beat or match BCBS or are within 5 to 10% with better plans and a solid ppo.

Assurant had priced themselves in a majority of places better than Cigna with a larger network of doctors.

Their pricing is horrible in KS/MO off exchange. They don't show on the Federal Exchange here - only Coventry, BCBS, and Humana on exchange.

would you share what areas where they are competitive that you have found? i found that they are competitive in fla. i think even 5%-10% difference could make them an option.

Looks like Assurant generates a lot of strong emotions...both pro and con. Will Assurant win the "Most Controversial Health Insurer" award?
