Entering Med Supps

I'm thinking about entering the Med Supps market but it's not at all a strong suit of mine.

What providers should I be looking at?

Is there a good BGA or equivalent that I can go to for information?

Is there any resource one can point to for learning more about med supp sales?

Thanks.

I can help you learn med. supps. in no time. I have studied for many, many hours and will be glad to train you for free if you contract with me. I will teach you everything I know about Medicare supplements, from A-Z.

I can get you great contracts with great companies. Let me know if I can help.

I too am starting with Med Supps. One of the biigest frustrations I have is having enough folks to call. Between the DNC regs and the CMS regs for MA, it just seems that getting folks to call is is negligible. Any suggestions ????

Thanks

I've been selling Med Supps for sixteen years successfully without the need to purchase leads. I have excellent contracts and have been training agents for a number of years.

If I can help give me a call.

Frank,

If your response was directed at me, I need to clarify. I'm not interested in buying "leads". However, even when I purchase lists of existing Seniors woth certain parameters, most of them are on the DNC list and/or currently with a MA plan. How do I acquire enough names that I AM able to call ?

At this point in time Med Supps are going to be more difficult to sell in large metro areas than in rural areas, beyond the reaches of HMO's. I don't anticipate this being true next Fall.

In rural areas across the country there are a lot of seniors who have purchased PFFS plans that are having them canceled for 2010. When calling in rural areas I believe you will find a lot of people who are losing their PFFS plan who are looking for Med Supps. I have sold a lot of those in the last couple of months.

Right now the bulk of my Med Supp sales come from rural Missouri. I find a lot less people on the DNC list and the ones I talk to are a lot more receptive to either purchasing it over the phone or agreeing to an appointment.

September of 2010 is when I am going to launch an aggressive marketing campaign once again in the St. Louis and KC greater metro areas. I believe that Med Supps will be very competitive with HMO's at that time and I will be able to show a senior that a Med Supp is a superior way of investing their premium dollar.

So Dwayne, let me get this straight.

Several months ago you knew nothing about med supps. You were trained by Frank Stastny and now you are the expert.

Rather than posting that you recommend your mentor, someone who taught you pretty much all you know, you have decided to become a GA and train people yourself - clearly using the techniques Frank taught you, and taught you for free.

It has been pointed out repeatedly on this forum that, "no good deed goes unpunished."

Glad to see you stepping on people on your way up. Good luck to you and your Christian honesty.
