Sure you can get a ribeye for half the price of new york steak, too, if you buy 'em at the right time. Too bad you can't freeze your SPIA and use it when you want. Even then I have never seen one SPIA paying hundreds of dollars more than another.

You are looking at a sight that gives you the 'top' SPIA quotes from what, the top ten companies? Call around. There are several carriers out there which don't want that business. A few offered impaired risk SPIAs and I have seen quotes jump a couple hundred bucks within the top companies for this, like from $1850 per month to over $2000 but not all companies will right an impaired risk either.

Call LSW or Great American and get a SPIA quote then compare it with American Equity and I think you will see a significant difference in payout for SPIAs.
