Exodus on the Hill - Obamacare

Such an insight into the mentality on Capitol Hill. Who cares who else our law effects, it is all about them.

I guess someone should have read it before it was passed.

The article sums up the main problem by saying:

The Affordable Care Act — signed into law in 2010 — contained a provision known as the Grassley Amendment, which said the government can only offer members of Congress and their staff plans that are "created" in the bill or "offered through an exchange" — unless the bill is amended.
Currently, aides and lawmakers receive their health care under the generous Federal Employee Health Benefits Program. The government subsidizes upward of 75 percent of the premiums for the health insurance plans. In 2014, most Capitol Hill aides and lawmakers are expected to be put onto the exchanges, and there has been no guidance whether the government will subsidize those premiums. This is expected to cause a steep spike in health insurance costs.

I feel no pity for them. They put millions of businesses and employees in the same situation. This is not more of a problem for Congress than it is for any other American business.

As they say: You broke it, you own it.

Kind of brings a tear to my eye. My senator did something right! I wonder why his Democrat counterpart isn't seeking reelection next year....

Behind closed doors, Congress has apparently crafted an OPM regulation/rule that exempts them and their staffers from having to participate in ObamaCare.

Report: Report: Lawmakers to Subsidize Own Obamacare Premiums with Tax Dollars

Earlier this week, the head of the IRS told Congress that he did not plan on changing his family over to an ObamaCare plan. All the government higher-ups are starting to see ObamaCare plans for the rip-offs that they are... $1,200 a month for a $12,000 family out-of-pocket! I'd be kicked out of every home and business in a heartbeat if that was the health insurance proposal I presented!

Wait until middle income people get sick and see first-hand that they've been scammed. Only THEN will they understand why the House of Representatives tried 40 times to repeal all, or part of ObamaCare. (Today was their 40th time!):err:

So how did this work? Congress passed a bill was signed into law by the prez and now this OPM can bypass congress and the prez? Something's rotten in Denmark......

Why even have elected officials or even a prez for that matter?

How can an office under the supervision of Congress make laws for Congress???

The will of the American people are being trampled on. I will be on the phone Monday am!
