FE Agent going independent. I need some advice

Trinity is not in AL either....I heard SNL pays a little bit lower commissions, but has good residual rates

I am used to scrubbing apps, and I have looked at Doug Massi's instructional video on their apps so i should be ok there. E apps dont really matter to me, just wanted to see if i needed a particular device. RNA is not in al, and i heard it doesn't look like they r coming anytime soon ( they don't like our mortality rates)...I dont think family benefits is here either.

Yes one of the top agents in the country for Family Benefit Life is with FexContracting and is in Alabama.

You can always tell where companies are at by pulling up a FexQuote for your state. Final Expense Quotes

I used to be alright, but lately Trans has gotten a bit more "Trans-like" ... but I still use them quite a bit.

Going independent means I stopped drinking the KoolAid, as many of u like to say

Right. But are you scattering contracts amongst several uplines or are you leaving a captive situation and going to one IMO? There are, imo, degrees of "independence."

Thx! Will definitely check them out! Thoughts on Foresters, MOO and Americo? Issues I run into r blood thinners, HepC, cancer meds heart meds like nitro....

In Alabama, my line up would be Family Benefit, Transamerica, Americo, United Home Life ... I'd also pick up Lifeshield or Standard Life and Casualty as a price buster, especially for healthy smokers. For non-smokers I'd just stick with Family Benefit. AIG or Gerber for Guaranteed Issue.

Hep C if treated etc Liberty Bankers.

Given your questions, your selection of upline will be important. You will want someone you can access while in the field for underwriting help with a new line up of carriers.

Understand that IMOs can have different ideas of "independent". I have clarified release parameters with the ones I am exploring. I am as earned, so debt will never be an issue. Great to hear Family Benefit is in AL....the little bit I know about them looks good, and dont they do true SS billing? As one poster said earlier SS billing is a MUST.

Also exploring lead vendors....wholeheartedly agree that DM is king .....really like Need A Lead with their fixed cost program, and for FB leads looking at DIMG..I dont do any telesales, so dont want TM

You want to check the uplines you are considering for access to RGI leads. They are going to be a much higher option than Need a Lead. Most of the good FE agencies are going to have them FexContracting (us) the 360 agencies and EFES also have them. They are by far the best set price direct mail lead in the business.

But you also wanna make sure you check with the agencies that your particular territory is open with them. I have an agent working leads in your county a good agency won't put a second agent in those same counties. If they already have an agent working leads in your county a good agency won't usually put a second agent in those same counties
