FE "Seminar?"

Ok with AEP a bust---got to get my thinking cap on for January

I have done a couple of FE Seminars in the past---used some ideas I got here

I had them at lower income Seniors apartments---offered a "drawing" for $25 gift cert for Dollar General across the street.

Building of about 100 residents, got maybe 20 attendees---almost all of them my MAPD clients

Sold nothing.

Second one same.

So now I now what DOESNT WORK---what are/have you done that DOES work?

The first question you need to ask yourself is why? Why did you make no sales?

Are they all planning to die with no insurance? Do they already have insurance? Are you good at reviewing and comparing? Are you good at getting past the "think about it" smokescreen? The big one is...did you get your eyeballs on their actual policies? Or did you fail to get to that crucial step?

Where did you get hung up? Once you analyze that you can improve.

Doing group presentations to those high rise buildings is not complicated. Usually you will make sales. But you are presenting to very low income and very unhealthy people. Not the greatest base of people for long term marketing.

But easy to sell. In my experience most likely of them currently have Bankers Life. That might be a regional thing. But if they are healthy enough to change, that's an easy one to beat.

Yeah we've got guys that do these seminars a couple times a month. I took the Bill saving idea and matched it up with the group presentations.

It increases attendance and lead cards filled out, but those places are really a horrible place to prospect.

As Scott said, super unhealthy, mostly GI prospects. Even worse with their money than the average FE prospect or they wouldn't be living in Section 202 low income senior housing.

I'd carry a lot of near-GI products if I were you. You'll find the healthy people too but from my experience, and that of my agents, you'll find 50% or more GI to near-GI prospects in those places.

Our team has done about 20 of those seminars in the last few months.

"Bill saving" idea? I read back and I think I missed it

About 2/3 of the groups I spoke to already have MAPD with me--some of them DSNP

Got good eye contact and people talked with me afterwards. No NO ONE brought their policies with them--should I ask for that? Some had policies they bought years ago and would not make sense to replace.

I do real well with MAPD seminars in fact the carriers seek me out for them---so was the presentation perfect? Of course not but Im pretty good at it. But FE isn't going to fly at high end "Brookdale" retirement places right?

And yes I got the suggestion about DM--but in my area its too freakin cold three months of the year and too hot two months of the year to door knock. And calling them is a waste of time and money.

So---maybe I just focus on DSNPs, Med Supps during the year and look for the opportunity for FE?

In that post alone you gave four cop outs why you could not succeed. And none of those would stop any agent who truly wants to succeed.

1. Policy too old to look at? You've never seen a 15-year-old policy they would be in the clients best interest to replace? You probably haven't because you've never looked at them. My own personal 20 year term policy ends January 1. It has guaranteed conversion options. If I wasn't an agent that already understood that and you were the first guy to teach it to me you would have an easy sale in your hands.

2. Too hot? Agents don't work in the heat anymore ?

3. Too Cold? they don't sell warm clothes anymore ?

4. Calling leads is a waste? So all the top final expense Agents a call and set appointments up their leads are wasting their time? They're not really setting appointments and making sales?

If you're serious about making a living in this business you need to definitely change your way of thinking. You need to get with a group that's succeeding and do what they do. Let your attitude adjuster there's don't try to drag they are down to your way of thinking.

All agents have to have those traits. If you're so successful at what you're doing, you don't need our help. I've trained agents to make 10k+ in a single day doing seminars. But I couldn't train you how to write a single app at one.

Its interesting----I have a couple of contracts with you---you were so highly recommended on here, so when I changed FMOs I used you. Interestingly---you NEVER reply to my emails. I get replies from you on HERE. You spent more time today making judgments about me you dont have anything like the information to make, than you've ever spent directly with me.

Calling leads IS a waste--for me. Not for you? Thats fine.

"You need to get with a group that's succeeding and do what they do. "---I suppose I might if I ever heard from you.

"You probably haven't because you've never looked at them. " Arrogant and uninformed much?

So here is my advice---"If you're serious about making a living in this business you need to definitely change your way of thinking. "

Bye all!

Bye all!

All you have to do is read this thread to know that you are uncoachable. I have asked you questions that will help you. You don't see it as advice. You see it as telling you to do things you don't want to do.

When you participate in our training do you ask these questions? I can answer that for you. No. You have put out zero effort at succeeding. No one can do it for you. We lay the path out. You choose not to follow it.
