Feds: Bridgeport man filed for bankruptcy, but didn't mention $100K life insurance check

The Office of the U.S. Trustee for the District of Connecticut received information about the life insurance payment made to Faustini and conducted a “Rule 2004” deposition examination on June 5, 2019.

“During the examination, Faustini made several false statements, including that he had not known about the life insurance policy when he filed his bankruptcy petition, that he did not find out about the policy until he received the check, and that he did not know how the insurance company knew to send the check to his address,” the release said.

Hall scheduled sentencing for Feb. 25, when Faustini faces up to five years in prison.

Yes, maybe one of the creditors was personal and knew the details of the estate. Or may be he owed his life insurance agent a personal loan and listed him as a creditor. The thing in a fraud case like this, there is no statue of limitations. Eventually they would have caught him in few years.
