WASHINGTON — After an unanticipated level of response from car shoppers seeking new auto discounts under the "cash for clunkers" program, the government was reported Thursday evening to have exhausted the funds available, leaving unclear whether further applications would be accepted.



"Congress evidently did not anticipate that the money would fly out the door so fast; it said that applications would be accepted until Nov. 1 or the money ran out."


Hummmm ...........I really really really want the Government run health care to work ask well as this. Don't You?

Hummmm ...........I really really really want the Government run health care to work ask well as this. Don't You?

My understanding is if your app is submitted today and the money is already gone you are out of luck. They have no idea how much they have spent. I was told that by a local car salesman at lunch today, his manager told him that this morning. He said the paperwork is a real pain in the butt, that's typical of the government . And people out there want them to take care of their health insurance.

Another failed and bankrupt government program that was depleted of funds rapidly. And no clue how it happened so quickly. No surprise there.

I tell ya, those folks are bright as they come on Capital Hill. Maybe they should have appointed a "clunker czar". Be on the lookout for a new tax mandate to replenish the program.

More money for clunkers but not in time for those in government to look like idiots for letting it run empty.

How do you get the politicians out of Washington? And if we elect new ones what is to say they won't do the same thing. Why can't we have people in there like our forefathers?

Will we ever be able to go back to what this county was built on?

Unfortunately only the vocal minority are the ones "demanding it". Those are the people who have the time to march and demonstrate, you know, the ones we are supporting.

Those of us who are supporting the rest are too busy being responsible and earning a living to "march on Washington".

We need to make our voices heard and have a 10,000 "man" march on Washington comprised of responsible, hard working citizens who are fed up with the government pissing away our hard earned money on the drones (Def: a male bee which does no work in a colony but can fertilize a queen) of society who are receiving it.

I will show up if you will. That means that we only need 9,999,998 more to join us.
