I think the direct to consumer programs mostly don't. But I think their overhead is a lot lower so the amount of lapses they deal with they consider profit since they don't have to pay out the claims, nor detailed uw, or 160+ % Comission's.

I would say they spend as much in advertising as some companies do in commission.

I'm sure a few of them take debit card payments over the phone. But I think the price for far less of their business to be on bank draft anyway. I'd say nine out of 10 colonial Penn policies I see in Philadelphia people paid by direct bill.
