Final Expense Companies to Consider? Should I Go with an IMO?

JD, what about their broker program, with aged leads, for someone starting out part time? What do you think about that?

Certainly for that. That would be the only way to part time with EFES. Higher contracts, discounted mailings and access to all the training, [depending on the manager, of course}.

I just always advise people to not get on the lead program unless you are committed to bein g a fulltime FE agent. It just won't work for someone doing that. They would get behind on leads and you can't just turn them on and off like a faucett. Your PPL would fall through the floor and you would be paying way too mcuh for leads and not wring enough business to dig yourself out.

One guy on here, I can't remember his screen name at the moment, started with EFES as a broker, learned the business, made some moeny and moved to the lead program.

I kinda did that ^^^. I started part time, all on aged leads for the 1st 45 days or so.

If you're lucky & EFES has aged leads in your area, thats 1 way to go! they now have TONS near my areas, so Im getting a few every now & then.

Not sure if you are referring to me but that is the way I started with EFES. For me it was because I needed to build up some savings before getting on the lead program so a couple of bad weeks would not bury me. But thanks to my upline, jdeasy and others on this forum I got a good start out of the gate.

Also, I would tell anyone not to be scared of the aged leads and how old they are. The aged leads in my area was over FOUR YEARS OLD!!! and I still made money with them.

JD, starting out, my main concern is being a successful producer. So I will check out EFES. So thanks for the mention.

TDFnCali and FE4U, I'm going fulltime but going the broker route for my first couple of months may be a good option as anyways, regarding building that cash flow. So thanks for that mention as well.

I would strongly recommend Final Expense Contracts | Life Insurance Agent Contract and http://fexcontracting.com/. Both are great guys that offer good contracts.

+1 on this advice. You can start as an independent broker using the carriers offered by each Todd and/or Newby and also take advantage of their knowledge and offered trng. You maintain your atonomy and if another oppty comes along later you are able to make that move.

Caution about affiliating with more captive or restrictive contracting relationships; if you do so that specific carrier may be gone to you for a period of time [usually 6 months] if they do not offer a release, and most of those restrictive org do not. I do not know about Securus and their release practices, maybe JD or others could enlighten on this.

Hi SportsNut. I'll be contacting Todd King. Since I'm new I'll probably be contacting a few people on here since it seems that there are so many options and I need to find out information about each in order to determine a match.

Hi JDEASY. Can you provide me with a contact at EFES? I went to their website and didn't find specific information on their aged leads/broker option or specifics on their lead program for FT agents. Thanks

That is a smart way to go, NewInsLady.
If full time FE sales is what you want to do, EFES would be the best place to go to get training and experience.
Whatever you do, for as long as you are in the insurance business, NEVER NEVER NEVER assign your commissions to your upline.
Good luck getting started, keep us updated.

Thanks Tins! I will remember to never never never assign my commissions to my upline. Are you contracted with EFES now?
