Anybody have an experience with company in CT. called the Keenegroup?

Seem to have a great program for someone looking to start fresh in Final Expense in NY and Fl.

Any input is appreciated. Thanks.

I've met with Joseph before and he's an alright guy. It is what it is. You're probably better off getting starting with someone like him than going at it alone because at least with him you'll have a chance at getting trained correctly. That training is going to take a pretty serious chunk out of your commissions, but getting half of something and learning how to do it is better than nothing.

Ive got lots of experience in the life insurance arena but will be starting fresh looking for a new place to hang my hat in 4 or 5 months.

I spoke with Joe as well, seems sincere and explained his operation and that first year commission are somewhere around 80% annualized if I just want to write business and that there is a cost for the lead mailers.

All in all, I was impressed with him but since I've never done business throught the agency, looking for some advice here.

NY and FL are very different for FE. NY is different for everything I suppose.

If you can sell, just get the best contracts for the only 2 or 3 carriers in NY for FE and sell.

Florida has more options, so you'll have to shop around for more contracts.

In New York you'll want Columbian and Universal American. Presidential is a good one to throw in the bag too. The 80% in NY is pretty good, problem is the assignment. I have contracts with Universal and Presidential if you'd like. PM or e-mail me if you want to talk about it. Several other folks can help you too.

medicaree,

the 80 poin contract would not be good for him,
he can go direct and better comp

Depends on the carrier and if they'll take him directly. Unless something has drastically changed you can't go direct with Pres. Columbian is a little goofy and Universal American goes back and forth with when they're giving out contracts.

I only say this because it's NY. Any other state would give you a higher contract without any production history.

You talk about NY like it is miserable when it comes to insurance. I wish you were wrong!

Great positive comments and advice from all of you. Weaned on the life insuance biz but have been in the P&C area now for many, many years.

Ive been in management with JH years ago before my 26 year captive stint.

Making a break from the captive agent segment in the beginning of the year and I really don't want to start building a P&C agency all over again.

I believe FE may be a good place to earn a good income without working evenings and without the stress of "big brother" looking at my numbers 24/7.

Haven't looked for a place to write business for over 25 years. All new stuff here.
