I would like a larger sample size to make a better estimation, but probably 20% conversion (policies to leads); could be 25% depending on next week.

This compares to around 25% to maybe 30% policies to lead conversion on fresh leads.

My findings is that, yes, you'll have people who already take out coverage when you call them. Some will see you to explore other options; others won't.

I'm sure agency managers can verify this as the truth -- so many wannabe FE agents buy a batch of leads, doorknock or call a few of them, then give up before working the entire batch.

Securus has such a huge stockpile of "B-leads" -- purchased and unpurchased. They're a great value and in many cases, these leads haven't bought yet.

If I wanted to travel between Nashville, Knoxville, Atlanta, and Birmingham, I could buy 30 leads weekly at $5 or $7.50 each, in my estimation largely UNworked... hopefully closing 20% of them... and stay busy at 30 leads a week for at least 6 months. There's that many sitting there that could be worked.

...That reminds me of an old Jewish joke:

"Why did God create Gentiles?"

"...Well, somebody's got to pay retail, you know!"

I am sorry, I did get a little testy. please accept my appoligies.

I have been in the insurance business for about 4 years not counting back in 1981 when I worked for combined insurance for about a year. I have been around the block more than most. I have been in sales all my life and am now 56.

As far as the state coming down on me I am not all that concerned. I just sent them a complaint on an agent who forged signatures and rewrote my foresters policy for less coverage and the clients payment went up $15 dollars per month on a man who can not read or write.

We filled out all the papers and the state did their investigation and in the end did nothing.

If the press one leads, if thats what they really are, are against the law I am not concerned all that much. I pay for the leads from a lead generating company. They don't share with me how they get them. I don't know if a live person makes the call first or last or even at all.

I got more important things to worry about like if the Tigers are going to beat the spread or not.

Where can I buy the leads that you talk about here? Thanks for your reply in advance.
