When I say that it would be political 'unaliving' for any politician to vote against anything that would prevent or reduce Social Security benefits from being paid out to program beneficiaries... THIS is what I'm talking about:

"We will vote on taking up the Social Security Fairness Act to repeal flawed policies that eat away at the benefits of those who've worked as teachers, firefighters, postal workers, or public sector workers," Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer said on social media Wednesday. "Retirees deprived of their hard-earned benefits will be watching closely."

This primarily deals with WEP/GPO (Windfall Elimination Provisions and Government Pension Offset) programs designed to prevent double-dipping, but can create other hardships when one doesn't get to receive the benefits they earned and paid in to.

Not everyone stays in one career their entire lives anymore. That's an old lifestyle that doesn't necessarily apply these days.

Now, the concern is paying for it. We'll see what Musk does.
