Without question, you must focus on many other things such as Bing, Yahoo, local marketing and a few other non-published ideas.

The higher you are in the Google rankings, the more competitors you suddenly have.

I get those calls all the time. I usually listen for a few minutes and tell them I do my own SEO.

Then they start blabbering on about their secret sauce and how they can get much better rankings than I can.

Some try valiantly to pitch their product without insulting my SEO abilities. Others just plow ahead with their script.

I might do better if I outsourced my SEO, but the truth is, I enjoy working on my websites (I'm sure that means I'm a first class geek.) and they make me money.

I can't say that about much today. Back in the days when I hung out with The Most Interesting Man in the World, drank Dos Equis, and worked as a gigolo I enjoyed my work and made money. SEO isn't nearly as much fun, but I find insurance sales work quite boring. Profitable, but boring.
